Benzoyl Peroxide Review
Benzoyl peroxide is the most popular of acne treatments. It can be found in both products over the counter and in prescription acne treatments. So obviously, you can choose the cheaper options as it is cheap in general. It kills bacteria off essentially speaking, which is why it works for some people, and it's generally combined with other various ingredients.
Pros
Benzoyl peroxide has been clinically proven to show results. This means that if you use it, chances are the majority of the population or at least the tested population will show significant acne clearing effects.
Cons
Unfortunately, many have found that it doesn't work as well as they thought, and when they try to go off it, it actually causes a significantly greater sudden breakout in general. This definitely presents a problem as you might guess. But also it causes redness, irritation, dermatitis, and other skin related side effects.
Conclusion
We would not recommend using benzoyl peroxide. It does not help you to really clear acne, and even when it does, it comes with significant side effects to say the least. You would be far better off trying something else, and realistically speaking, we suggest that you do for the sake of your skin in general.
