Epiduo Review
For about a month or so, I was always seen Epiduo commercials on TV, and to be honest, they drove me a little bit nuts. They were always talking about how acne is a medical condition, even minor acne, and so you therefore need a prescription to take care of it. Allergies are definitely a medical condition for one, and there are many valid over the counter drugs that address it.
Pros
Epiduo does have 2 proven ingredients instead of just one like most prescriptions. It uses adapalene and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, which are both clinically proven to show greater results when used in the fight against acne.
Cons
Their whole advertising campaign is based on a common myth surrounding acne. For one thing, there are plenty of over the counter products that use the same 2.5% concentration of benzoyl peroxide or up to a more effective 5-10%. And frankly, both adapalene and benzoyl peroxide cause many of the same side effects.
Conclusion
Epiduo is a waste of time and money. Frankly, chances are you have already tried products using their two main ingredients, and they did not work. In fact most do not mix these 2 ingredients, even in separate products for a reason. There are more serious side effects and in general consequences. You should not use Epiduo for the sake of your skin.
